Message from the conference convenor
With The Pandemic behind us, we once again look forward to getting all of our members together and networking as before, as we get back to the norms of our craft. Yes, ICPA will once again host its 7th ICPA Conference at the Sandton Convention Centre, Johannesburg. It is an honour and privilege to address our members and colleagues, as Board member of ICPA.
The recent years during the pandemic has been challenging and once again our profession has come together to serve the needs of our communities, despite the pressures we faced daily in achieving our objectives.
In order to ensure we stay positive and bring back the zest in our colleagues, we have tailored a programme to show how pharmacists “Rise” from the deadly Pandemic that we dealt with together. Hence, the theme for our conference, post the pandemic, for this conference is (“R” to the power 5): “Rise, Reconnect, Recover, Rebuild, and Re-Energise”.
As always colleagues, your attendance provides our profession with the encouragement and determination, with which pharmacists show how we contribute and support each other taking our profession forward together. The Five components of our theme in 2023 will enhance these outcomes. Your support at this conference is a call for ALL to join and ensure the “Pharmacist” call to action is heard in a unified manner.
The” Rise”, will illustrate how our profession dealt with the Pandemic is followed by “Reconnect”, as to how the future has changed in order for us to “Recover” from the pandemic challenges. We will demonstrate how to “Rebuild” your practice thereby “Re-Energising” all to continue their professional services pharmacist delivering the “R” to the power 5.
The power of our pharmacists and practices will illustrate how we are able to stay competitive and strive for delivery of quality healthcare services, despite the constant legal and other challenges we face regularly. Independents always come up trumps when we empower and drive the challenging healthcare environment in a positive direction, forging difficult partnerships in the interest of our patients.
The programme highlighted prepares us for our challenges and difficulties thereby enhancing our business practices to ensure we remain viable, and survive as independents in the tough and challenging environment. I would like to urge all our members to join us at Conference 2023 in order for us to remain competitive and provide the services that independent pharmacies best provide.
Let us meet and network once again and share the positives as well as lessons learnt that take our profession to new levels post the Pandemic. Join in supporting the exhibitors that have committed their support to ICPA and independents. Together, with the support of each other we can grow. Participate in the ultimate platform for your practice, which will be show-cased, and help us grow and show the presence of independent pharmacy in every facet of healthcare for our communities.
It is you our members that motivate us as a board to continue the work we all do to serve you, our members. Thus, we pledge our commitment and will continue to work hard to achieve ICPA objectives, and strive to ensure this conference will deliver the outcomes envisaged for Independent Pharmacy.
As always, it has been a pleasure serving the profession and I look forward to meeting you at our 7th ICPA Conference and hope to see all the independents in one place, making our conference a success as the many previous successful conferences.
